Course Descriptions

Tech 1

​

Technical Theatre 1 students will learn basic safety, techniques and terminology in this introductory course. They will have a general understanding of the basic technical theatre areas: Audio, Carpentry, Lighting, 

 

Tech 2

​

An advanced course for students who are interested in pursuing advancing their tech skills and starting to find a specialty area to focus on. Technical Theatre 2 will also provide students with the opportunity to expand on their knowledge and skills in theatrical production. Tech 2 students will provide leadership and guidance to Tech 1 students.

 

Tech 3

​

An advanced course which encourages students to design for the stage by taking on assistant leadership, or full leadership positions. This means serving as part of the design team in an assistant position for LHS productions, while also assisting in class leadership positions by mentoring Tech 1s.

 

Tech 4H

​

An advanced course wherein students work in leadership positions and help to "teach" the younger students with techniques. They are also expected to serve as part of the design team in a main leadership role for LHS productions, while also holding leadership positions in class by leading small groups and mentoring Tech 1s.
