BEGINNING THEATRE COMBO

Course Descriptions

Leigh High School's Musical Theatre/Theatre Arts combo class is a hands-on course which teaches young performers how to learn the basics of acting, as well as important terminology for the performance world. Students will have the opportunity to explore their registered courses, as well as the other course offered within the class period. This means students get exposure and can explore other areas of theatre that can help them find their theatre pathway.

Musical Theatre

Performers will learn the basics of reading music, find their vocal ranges, use tone inflection and body language to convey the meaning of a song, as well as how those skills can be used to create choreography to enhance the experience for potential audiences. They will also be given the materials to create a portfolio, complete with a headshot and resume.

Theatre Arts

Performers will have opportunities to learn new performance techniques and terminology, as well as have opportunities to create their own scenes to perform. Students will also learn how to have a strong audition, and by the end of their theatre journey will have the materials to create a portfolio, complete with a headshot and resume.
